MESSAGE SUMMARY

February 21, 2021

On February 14, Pastor Steve focused on the role of the Holy Spirit in worship. Words cannot describe how much we all need the anointing of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us! The Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth! When the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus, we can worship Him in Spirit and truth! It is then that the presence of God not only fills His temple but also causes His enemies to scatter! May we be people who are hungry for the Holy Spirit to have His way in us for the glory of God!

On February 21, Pastor Steve taught on the reality of how the Goodness of God leads us to repentance.  The message presents the reality that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Holiness, is calling us to fully repent of all sin in all areas. It declares that our sin cannot abide with God. Thus, God desires to separate us from all sin in all ways. The Bible teaches that repentance brings times of refreshing! (See Acs 3:19). Let's allow the Goodness of God to bring us deeply into His presence and fully repent before His presence!

Summary

HOME CHURCH "HOTSPOT"

Read, meditate, & Journal your thoughts on the following scriptures

READ

  • Romans 2:4

  • Acts 3:19

  • Acts 5:1-11

  • Romans 8:1-2

  • John 3:20

  • Acts 16:16-34

  • John 1:1-5

REFLECT

  1. What does it mean that God's goodness leads us to repentance? (see Romans 2:4)

  2. If the presence of God causes His enemies to flee, what impact should it have on the sin that seeks to tempt us?

  3. What is the meaning of Acts 3:19? What should we look forward to when we repent?

  4. What do you think God is teaching in Acts 5:1-11?  What does this say about the Holy Spirit exposing the deeds of the darkness?

  5. Why do those who desire sin not want to be close to God? (see John 1:1-5 & 3:20).

  6. Describe what you think Acts 16:16-34 is teaching?  How does this encourage you to be in prayer and praise?

PRAY

  • That we realize that God's God's goodness is always working for our benefit.

  • That we as a church-family cultivate the presence of God and allow the Holy Spirit to convict us of all things that are displeasing to Him.

  • That we will no longer hold onto the deceptive pleasures of our sin, but will fully repent!

  • That we will live a life a obedience that will enable the power of God to go before us in all adversity.

  • That we will never run away from the light of God's grace, but that we will always run toward the His gentle love and grace that leads us to repentance!

DO

  1. Make an entry in your consecration journal to record your thoughts about this week's teaching. Think about what will happen in your life as you allow the goodness of God to lead you to repentance.

  2. Be intentional about your repentance. Set aside a time each day to meditate upon God's Word, pray, and allow the Holy Spirit to gently talk to you about the things you need to repent of.  Maybe it is actions you've been taking, behaviors you need to break free from, or even thoughts you've been thinking. Remember that the Holy Spirit may bring conviction, but He won't bring condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. (See Romans 8:1)

  3. Share your testimony of what changes have taken place in your life by choosing to repent.

FASTING

Fasting is a powerful consecration activity that not only disciplines the body but creates clarity and sensitivity to things in the Spirit. We encourage you to pray and to commit to the fast the Lord is calling you.
