MESSAGE SUMMARY

February 14, 2021

Pastor Steve taught on God's beautiful call to sit at Jesus' feet. Jesus is the Father's provision.  He is the manifestation of the Father's grace, power, and love. This means the Father is calling us to put all other things aside and sit at the feet of grace, power, and love. Martha was troubled and worried about many things, but Mary chose to sit at Jesus' feet!  This is Worship! It is to put Jesus above all other things! What a blessing Mary and Martha found! Jesus desires us to put away our worries and sit at His beautiful feet and hear His Word that brings life! Let's discover the same blessing today and choose to sit at Jesus' feet. It's going to make the difference you've been praying for!

On February 14, Pastor Steve focused on the role of the Holy Spirit in worship. Words cannot describe how much we all need the anointing of the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us! The Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth! When the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus, we can worship Him in Spirit and truth! It is then that the presence of God not only fills His temple but also causes His enemies to scatter! May we be people who are hungry for the Holy Spirit to have His way in us for the glory of God!

REFLECT

  1. What truths do John 14:26 and John 16:13-15 reveal about the Holy Spirit?

  2. Why is the Holy Spirit so critical in the life of a believer's worship?

  3. How does the Holy Spirit enable us to worship the Father in Spirit and truth?

  4. Discuss your personal experience. Was there a time that you knew the power of the Holy Spirit moved on you and brought your worship to a higher level?

  5. What is the relationship between Holy Spirit-filled worship and deliverance? (see Acts 10:38)

PRAY

  • That we discover and abide in a level of worship that is truly inspired by the Holy Spirit.

  • That we will no longer rely on our own strength to worship and that we will seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to enable us to worship God in Spirit and in truth.

  • That we as a church-family cultivate corporate worship that brings deliverance and causes demons to flee!

  • That the lost will be touched by the power of the Holy Spirit when we worship corporately.

  • That Holy Spirit-filled worship will overflow into our families in such a way that it nourishes our home groups, marriages, and our children.

DO

  1. Make an entry in your consecration journal to record your thoughts about this week's teaching. Think about what will happen in your life as you allow the Holy Spirit to fill your praise and worship.

  2. Be intentional about your worship. Set aside a time each day to meditate upon God's Word, pray, and allow the Holy Spirit to gently lead you in thanks and praise. Take your time and allow the Holy Spirit to move your heart and mind.

  3. Share your testimony of what changes have taken place in your life by choosing to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit!

  • Ephesians 1:17-18

  • John 17:21

  • John 4:23-24

  • Luke 4:18
